The Dark Avenger's Top Picks For December 9, 2015

Top Picks for December 9, 2015
By Chris Ventura

December’s second week continues to go full steam ahead. With so many new books coming out, it gets hard to pick and choose which ones to get. We have a few new number ones from Marvel, DC’s next cross over with IDW begins, Robin War is in full swing in some of the Bat books…let’s not forget those Harley polybag mystery comics! That’s why I do this to help you guys make those all important decisions to look at while at the comic shop.

Top Picks:

BATMAN AND ROBIN ETERNAL #10
-On the last page to issue 9 we get to see the return of Azrael! This series just keeps getting more and more interesting, and the more flashbacks we get the more background we get on Batman’s confrontation with Mother. I’m loving this series, this is a weekly you should definitely be reading!

BATMAN/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #1
-The second cross over between DC and IDW…I am so excited for this mini! As everyone knows I’m a huge TMNT fan and to have them crossing over with Batman really has me pumped for this book! Something to definitely check out this week at your comic shop!

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #4
-The second story arc begins and this time we have a Goblin in the mists of Africa. It’s exactly as the description says where there’s a goblin there’s Spider-Man! I’m really enjoying this new volume of Spider-Man, now that the reintroduction story arc is done let’s get down to business!

BLACK KNIGHT #2
-I was surprised with the first issue of this series and now I’m hooked into seeing what happens next. Black Knight Versus Uncanny Avengers. If you haven’t tried this series yet I highly recommend giving it a look over. The art fits the book perfectly and you don’t need a huge knowledge of the past to understand this book.

SPIDER-MAN 2099 #4
-After the last page in the previous issue there’s so much left to be dealt with for Miguel. Plus we have people from Miguel’s time showing up in the present, and will we get to see Captain America 2099 soon? This is a really great book with beautiful art, one of my favorite from the spider family books.

BIRTHRIGHT #12
-Mikey’s and Brennan’s journey continue to the next mage. A new major character is introduced this issue and we get to see more flash backs of Mikey’s adventures as a boy. This has a really engaging and interesting story, and gorgeous artwork. A top recommendation of mine.

WE STAND ON GUARD #6
-The final part to this exciting miniseries. The final face off between Amber and the resistance and the American armies. I enjoyed watching Amber’s character development throughout this miniseries. There is definitely potential for this to have a second volume.

STREET FIGHTER UNLIMITED #1
-Udon begins a new volume for Street Fighter. I am really excited for this book, if you are a fan of the Anime or video games you will LOVE this book. The art is always spectacular, and with Street Fighter 5 only a few months away this book is the perfect set up for the new game.
