Catwoman Tops the Charts But Not the Fans' Hearts

Early reports indicate that Detective Comics #27 was at the top of the sales charts for the week (running Wednesday to Wednesday). Controversy surrounded the book's main cover, by Frank Miller, which was originally listed as a variant but reports have come in from comic shops that it was shipped in the largest quantities.

It has been reported that the piece was not originally created for the issue but instead, was completed for a previous Batman or Sin City project. In speaking to fans at a local comic shop, most seemed to prefer the other covers but were not willing to pay the higher amount being charged for them.
