Power Rangers 2015 Gets Dino Charged!

Power Rangers the Mega TV Franchise is a week away from its 21st Season Debut Power Rangers: Super Megaforce which is set to celebrate the 20 prior seasons (Saban is still playing catch up from the lack of a season in 2010) on February 15th. But the big news today isn’t about this monumental season that is bringing former Rangers back in a Legendary War, but instead the big news today is about the 2015 season of Power Rangers, that according to USAToday will be titled Power Rangers: Dino Charge based off of the Japanese Super Sentai show Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.

The Dino theme isn’t new it was the original theme that launched the Power Ranger Franchise in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in 1993, and done again in 2004 with Power Rangers: Dino Thunder. What makes this big news is that it appears that Saban is skipping over Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, which would be the first time that Power Rangers has totally ignored a Super Sentai series in it’s history since it did adapt elements of Gosei Sentai Dairanger and Ninja Sentai Kakuranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Seasons 2 and 3 and the Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers Mini-Season.

“Dinos are a big draw in Japan and will continue the Power Rangers' strong success overseas.”
– Akihiro Sato, Bandai CEO
“And by returning to the Jurassic influence that also gave the world Power Rangers Dino Thunder in 2004, we know fans will find this next season larger than life."
– Elie Dekel, President of Saban Brands

In Power Rangers: Dino Charge, the Paragon Prisms were given to a dozen dinosaurs for safe keeping by an alien, but they were lost when asteroids hit the Earth and wiped out the dinos. Now in the present day, an intergalactic bounty hunter starts sniffing around Earth looking for the Prisms in order to harness their power and annihilate the world, so a team of Power Rangers forms to find the Prisms first and fight the bounty hunter and other threats with dino-powered swords, blasters, Zords and Megazords.

But don’t get so wrapped up in what the 2015 season of Power Rangers brings us that you forget about the new season Power Rangers, Power Rangers Super Megaforce, the 21st season premieres Feb. 15 (noon ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.
