SDCC: Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes

For those of you who enjoyed the Disney Infinity game, Disney Interactive has announced an updated version, Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes that is launching September 23. You are able to pre-order the starter pack today.  All the characters and power discs for the original 2013 Disney Infinity will be compatible with the game. Players can even craft their own worlds and games using any characters from both editions of Disney Infinity.

The Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes (2.0 Edition) Starter Pack includes, the game disc, the 2.0 Edition Base, 3 Marvel Super Heroes Figures which are Iron Man, Thor and Black Widow, Marvel’s The Avengers Play Set piece, 2 Disney Infinity 2.0 Edition Toy Box Games, and a unique web code to unlock Disney Infinity 2.0 edition online content.

Right now there are 3 play sets you can buy. The first is Marvel’s The Avengers Play Set with Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, and Hawkeye. The second is Marvel’s Spider-Man Play Set with Spider-Man, Venom, Nick Fury, Iron Fist, and Nova. The third Play Set was announced Wednesday morning at San Diego Comic-Con.

Guardians of the Galaxy is a unique play set because they team up at Knowhere which is taken directly from the movie. In the game they also get missions from characters like Cosmo the telepathic Russian dog, The Collector, Yondu the leader of the Ravagers, and crossover characters like Iron Man and Nova. This play set includes Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Gamora, Drax, and Groot.

Disney Interactive also released details about the special Sony-platform-only Collector’s Edition. This Limited Edition for PlayStation 3 and 4 include the complete Disney Infinity 2.0 Avenger Play Set and Starter Pack which is Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Captain America, and Hulk 30 days before he is released as a stand-alone figure. The Collector’s Edition also includes a light-up diorama that features all six Avenger Figures and a seventh spot for an unannounced mystery character.

As a player of the first Disney Infinity Game I can’t wait to get my hands on all these play sets and definitely looking forward to Guardians of the Galaxy play set. Time to hit the theaters August 1 for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
