For every season there is a change, but will that change effect Marvel Studios Iron Man Franchise? That is a question that fans have been wondering ever since Iron Man 3. Iron Man was the first movie to launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Robert Downey Jr. in the lead role, a role that many fans believe he fully embodies. But how long will he don that armor?
This weekend is Comic-Con International: San Diego, and this is usually the big entertainment con of the year. This is the time when studios, like Marvel Studios announce their upcoming plans for TV and Movies. Marvel already laid claim to a few key date slots that run through 2019. Could Marvel use one of those dates for Iron Man 4? And more importantly if they do will RDJ suit up for the role?
On the set of Avengers: Age of Ultron, EW asked Downey point-blank: Does he want to star in an Iron Man 4? But like Marvel RDJ didn't give a clear cut answer.
“It’s down to Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios president] and Ike [Perlmutter, CEO of Marvel Entertainment] and Disney to come to us with what the proposal is, and that’s on us to agree or disagree. When things are going great, there’s a lot of agreement.”

The Iron Man sequels like the rest of the Marvel Studios franchises have all out grossed its predecessor, and Iron Man tops that list making it a key element of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The buck doesn't end with just the Tony Stark persona, but the man behind him and in the armor as well with Forbes listing him as the highest-paid actor in the world, having earned $75 million over the past year thanks to his backend deal for Iron Man 3, the highest-grossing live-action movie last year.

I guess the answers to the questions on an Iron Man 4 happening and who will play the role will remain out of our reach as both Downey and Marvel seem to be playing the Hollywood political game by giving fans some hope without giving a direct yes.
