Elevator Pitich 1: DC's Young Justice!

We all know that an elevator pitch is a brief, persuasive speech that you use to spark interest in a project, idea, product – or in yourself. For these articles the ideas are for comic book series. A good elevator pitch should last no longer than a short elevator ride, hence the name. This time around Brant & Jay are each delivering their pitches for a new Young Justice ongoing title. Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter what you think of our YOUNG JUSTICE ELEVATOR PITCH! DING!

YOUNG JUSTICE #1
Writer: Peter J. Tomasi
Artist: Jason Fabok
What I Want to See: Before you can graduate to the Justice League, there’s a proving ground. That’s what Young Justice means to me. These are the heroes that have surpassed the Teen Titans, but aren’t quite ready for the responsibilities of the Justice League. It should be a revolving door of late teen/early 20s heroes with a few core members. Beast Boy, Miss Martian, Red Robin, Spoiler, Cassie Sandsmark and Superboy (Conner) to name a few. Much like their cartoon counterpart, these young heroes face their own enemies and deal with the stuff the League can’t because they’re off saving the universe from some world eater or another. ~ Brant

I have two pitches for this title depending on which way they want to go. Here we go with the first line up, which I think could sell well, especially given that Super Sons is over. This first team will be dependent on Wally West's kids returning.

YOUNG JUSTICE #1
Writer: Peter  J. Tomasi
Artist: Todd Nauck
What I Want To See: Jon is disappointed that he can't join the "Teen" Titans since he is too young so he decides to create his own team. While at an event with his parents as the heroes gather to re-meet Wally's twins Iris & Jai who are around Jon's age, he gets the idea the three of them should form their own team. Damian overhears this and gets jealous, but being Damian he tries not to let it show and instead decides to protect them he would need to not just join, but to lead the team as well so he disbands the Teen Titans. The team faces their first foe, Kid Amazo, and after they defeat him they set up shop in the Justice Cave in Happy Harbor and discover Red Tornado who becomes their "Man In The Chair." Damian "hacks" the Batcomputer to gain access to files and discover missions for the team, not knowing that Batman has created the pathway for Damian and keeps missions there for the team to discover as well as set Red Tornado to be "found" by the team as a man on the inside. The team will meet and befriend Till'all; a young White Martian who was conditioned his whole life to believe himself to be a Green Martian and has become the ward of J'onn J'onzz, and will join the team. ~ Jay

YOUNG JUSTICE #1
Writer: Greg Weisman
Artist: Mike McKone
What I Want To See: Tim and Steph while on their mission discover missing friends are out there. With Cassie and Bart (now Mercury) already back they recruit Cissie King-Jones (now Artemis), Miss Martian, Aqualad and Beast Boy to help them rescue Conner from a secret Project Cadmus lab. Once the team is back they realize there is already a Teen Titans team, so they reform Young Justice with a new mission, to take on the things that the Justice League can't. Using his Belfry design and plans the team set up shop in the Justice Cave in Happy Harbor. ~ Jay
