The titles for these two series have a significant meaning for the X-Men. Other than the obvious classic color scheme, the Blue Team and Gold Team dates back to the two teams from the Jim Lee/Claremont era with 1991's X-Men #1 and Uncanny X-Men #281. The Blue Team would call X-Men home and starred Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Rogue, Gambit, Psylocke and Jubilee. While the Gold Team called Uncanny X-Men their home and consisted of Storm, Jean Grey, Iceman, Archangel, Colossus and Bishop. The Blue Team/Gold Team stayed in effect for a few years, but the teams united in the time leading up to Onslaught.
Like the previous titles there is no further information on X-Men Blue #1 and X-Men Gold #1 yet including the creators, but it will be released along side of them in Spring 2017.
