Top Panels of the Week - 2/21/18

Comic Frontline is starting a new segment where the crew picks their Top 5 comic panels from the week, and then you guys get to vote below which panel was your favorite. In next week's post I will announce the winner from the poll.

Fan Panel Pick From Last Week - Detective Comics #974 - The Bat Means Don’t Kill!

Kat

5. The Mighty Thor  #704 - The Gods Don't Believe In Us.

Odinson let Jane down multiple times, so she became her own God.

4. The Mighty Thor #704 - I'm Not Religious....

What a heartbreaking opening to unravel Jane's connection to her spirituality throughout the course of the issue.

3. Injustice 2 #20 - Superboy Is Alive!

I loved that it was Ma and Pa Kent who greet Superboy when he survives.

2. The Amazing Spider-Man #796 - Face It Tiger!

Great homage! It's was a pleasure seeing Peter and MJ reconnecting.

1. The Mighty Thor #704 - Find A God Worthy Of You.

The Mighty Thor #704 was a beautiful tribute to Jane Foster's human life. This line from her mother prefaces the whole issue as Jane unknowingly searches for spirituality. In the end, the God worthy enough for Jane was herself.

BRANT

5. Incredible Hulk #713 - Cho In The Trunk!

After finally letting Hulk out, Amadeus now pays the price for holding him back so long. I love the implications for the future here. Hulk is unleashed!

4. Batman #41 - Flash Around Every Corner!

I just love this line as Ivy controls Alfred. It's a dig at the multiple Flashes running around, and features that classic wry humor of Ivy.

3. The Amazing Spider-Man #796 - Prelude to Red Goblin! (AKA Two-Face Marvel Style)

Sure, we've seen this coming, but the portrait of a completely restored Norman Osborn standing there with symbiote and serum is just eerie and cool at the same time! Two of Spidey's greatest threats wrapped up in one... Dan Slott's trying to leave his mark on the book before his exit.

2. X-Men Gold #22 - Kitty Has It Well In Hand!

Kitty went dark here! Risking limb to save the day with the most dire of consequences for Mesmero. Love it!

1. Infinity Countdown Prime #1 - A Pocket For Every Stone!

I was torn between this and my runner-up, but ultimately this one is just a better Wolverine line. Just the sheer matter-of-fact nature of "I got more pockets" for all the Infinity Stones was classic Logan and cool as can be!

JAY

5. Infinity Countdown - Prime #1 -  SHAZAM?!

COME ON! I love this! We find out that the different Captain Marvels from different universe may have also found the Reality Stone, and one of them is just about off panel here and it just so happens to look like DC's Captain Marvel! I loved this nod to the Distinguished Competition and the history of the trademark!

4. Astonishing X-Men #8 - Are You Flirting With Me?

I loved this scene! I mean come on! Especially given Raze is supposed to be Wolverine and Mystique's son, maybe it wasn't our Wolverine, but a "Wolverine" Old Man Logan! This scene just cracked me up!

3. Super Sons #13 - Insult Denied Short Round!

These types of scenes are why I love this series. This girl Georgia Bakshi is Jonathan's crush, and she seems to be crushing on him too. She is a mix of Lana, Lois and Diana! I want this to be the next Trinity!!!! Please make this girl a Bana-Mighdall Amazon PLLLLEASSSSE!!!!

2. The Amazing Spider-Man #796 - Face It Tiger!

One of the most iconic lines in comic history! I love the hope this issue brings to M.J. and Peter fans. This simple line changed Peter's life forever, and now could it do it again? This issue seems to imply that it might.

1. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers #24 - OH SNAP!!!!

This is why Lord Drakkon is a huge villain, and the biggest, and dare I say it best villain in Power Rangers history! He manipulates everyone in this issue, and it works on Saba enough to have him lose control and he takes the opening! Bring on Shattered Grid!

MIKE SPIDER-SLAYER

5. Avengers #681 - Voyager Is A Wimp!

This proves my point The Voyager is a wimp every issue she cries that she is tired and she needs a break. The biggest Superhero slacker ever!

4. Injustice 2 #20 - Snap!

Wait did Amazo just Snap Zods head right off?? I didn't even know that was possible.

3. X-Men Gold #22Kitty Has It Well In Hand!

Kitty is pretty badass through this entire issue. But this scene was great willing to sacrifice her hand is showing you that she is willing to do anything for her team.

2. Infinity Countdown Prime #1 - Stabbing The Trickster

Wolverine is back, and at the beginning of this issue he thrust is claws into Loki to prove that it is really him! Nice to have you back Logan.

1. The Amazing Spider-Man #796 - Old Habits, Not Bad Ones!

Really it's the last 3 panels of this issue that put a smile on my face but I could only pick one so I started with this one where it shows that Mary Jane wanted  something more from Peter that night than just a date! Face it tiger you just hit the Jackpot!!! Finally.
