ResurrXion: CABLE #1 Breaks Out the Big Guns This Spring!

CABLE #1 Breaks Out the Big Guns This Spring!
New Series Launching as Part of ResurrXion

Lock and load, True Believer – Cable is back, and better than ever! Brand new mission, brand new creators, non-stop action! Marvel is pleased to announce the all-new CABLE #1 – coming at you this Spring from Eisner Award-winning writer James Robinson (Scarlet Witch, Squadron Supreme) and blockbuster artist Carlos Pacheco (Occupy Avengers, Captain America)!

With all of time hanging in the balance, there’s only one man with the skills to save it. A new foe has emerged, bending time and manipulating history to his own sinister ends. Picking up a threat to the time-stream and the universe itself, Cable sets off on a high octane, history-spanning chase to save reality as we know it! From a six-gun duel at high noon to a swordfight in Feudal Japan, Cable must fight to keep history from unraveling!
“One of the things about Cable is he’s a ‘time warrior’. Time travel is part of his make-up in almost every aspect of his history – no pun intended. This series will be Cable on a race against time to fix time. And in the course of Cable’s mission, we’ll see him in a lot of great time periods like 15th century Japan, WWI, the Stone Age, Victorian England and on and on, with those time periods made more crazy and sci-fi by time being fractured by the villain of our series.”
— James Robinson, Via Marvel.com

This Spring, walk softly…and carry a big gun! The chase through the time-stream is on when CABLE #1 comes to comic shops and digital devices everywhere!

Cable is Nathan Summers and is the son of Scott Summers (Cyclops) and Madelyne Pryor (Jean Grey's clone), he is also half brother to Rachel Summers-GreyCable is from a possible  post-apocalyptic future timeline having been transported to the there to save his life. Cable traveled to the past with one mission; kill Apocalypse to prevent his future from happening. To do this he traveled to his home timeline and set out recruiting a team of mutants to launch a preemptive strike in hopes of preventing Apocalypse's rise to power.

Louise Simonson and artist/co-writer Rob Liefeld created the character Cable who first appeared in 1990's New Mutants #87 as a "Man of Action"  to lead the New Mutants. It was later revealed that the character had been introduced four years prior in 1986's Uncanny X-Men #201 as the infant Nathaniel Summers by writer Chris Claremont. Since then Cable has appeared in solo titles as well as team books such as New MutantsX-ForceCable and X-Force, and currently be found in, Uncanny Avengers.
"I was given a directive to create a new leader for the New Mutants. There was no name, no description besides a 'man of action', the opposite of Xavier. I created the look, the name, much of the history of the character. After I named him Cable, Bob suggested Quinn and Louise had Commander X"
- Rob Liefeld On Cable's Creation

Like the previous titles Cable #1 will be released in Spring 2017.
