Breaking News: DIggle's Arrow Season 4 Costume Revealed!

Ever since SDCC 2015 we have been finding out that Arrow Season 4 will feature some major changes including Ollie getting a new costume, the City being renamed Star City, Ollie taking the name Green Arrow, and most recently the unveiling of their brand new headquaters the Arrow Bunker. During the Arrow panel at SDCC 2015 we got a hint that Diggle will join the costume club when he said he would be sporting a helmet, and now we have our first look at him in his Season 4 costume.

Since Arrow started fans have been speculating on who he could be as he wasn't present in the comics. Many believed with his military background that he was destined to wield the Green Lantern ring of John Stewart. Once it was dropped at SDCC 2015 that he would be donning a helmet I thought of the Guardian. The Guardian is a character who has had many names attached to him including the original Jim Harper (Uncle of Roy Harper), Mal Duncan who most recently donned the title in Young Justice Invasion, and The Manhattan Guardian, Jake Jordan.

Diggle's costume is very much in line with the Manhattan Guardian street level design that I am leaning more towards this being the version they go with on a level. Perhaps Diggle has joined the Star City PD as part of a new task force given the pic that Paul Blackthorne tweeted out that showed Lance and Diggle at the Star City PD station.

“We try to be very consistent with our characterization. I don’t think Diggle looks at it as a costume per se. Oliver, in the last season, gave him advice in terms of concealing his identity, and so Diggle approaches it from a very practical standpoint. He followed Oliver’s advice and he’s got a means of concealing his identity, but I think Diggle would probably react to anyone calling it a costume.”
