The 12 Days Of Media Mad-Mas: 2nd Day - You'll Go Down In History....

Every week Kat and I do the Media ((((Madness)))) Vidcast, and we are always asked about music, but music if very genre specific, except Christmas music! So I thought I would do an article a day, for 12 days on some of my favorite Christmas songs, but it didn't seem enough, so I thought I would go full Media  ((((Madness)))) on it and explore some of my favorite Christmas Songs, Movies, TV Episodes, and Animated Specials! Each day from now until Christmas I will be sharing some of my favorites, some will be fun, some will be classic, and some days will be sentimental. Also keep an eye out for Chibi Jay, and enjoy The 12 Days Of Media Mad-Mas: 2nd Day - You'll Go Down In History....!

For the 2nd Day of Media Mad-Mas I thought back and asked: What in media defines Christmas to me? I have to say it is Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer, so today I have a Reindeer theme. I was lucky enough to be able to post the full Movie, TV Episode and the Animated Special for today so everyone can fully get my love for them. I hope everyone enjoys them as much as I do!

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer – Burl Ives

Another song I love, and I think it is universal. Who doesn't know this song? The only way I can recite the names of Santa's Reindeer is to sing the very beginning of the song. This song has been remade a few times over the years but to me there is no other version that captures the magic like the Burl Ives animated version.

Prancer

This isn't Rudolph, but still a touching movie about one of Santa's Reindeer that makes you believe. I love the movies that are formed around the unwavering belief in Santa that children have, it is that period in life when no matter how bad things are, no matter how harsh life is there is a beacon of hope and magic every December. This movie delivers that as a little girl believes she is nursing Prancer back to health despite her mother having passed away and everyone telling her different. In the end we are left asking is it?

Eureka Season 5 – Do You See What I See

I want to say that some places mark this as Season 4 Episode 21, but  Netflix  lists it as the Season 5 1st Episode. I love this episode it takes the cast and turns them into different types of animated characters. The show is so funny and offbeat that it works for it and doesn't seem out of place. To make it even better as a little gift Jim Parson (Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory) voices Sheriff Carter's jeep, Carl.

Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer

This is one of my all time favorite Animated Christmas Specials ever. The classic tale of the misfit who turns out to be the big hero. This is the timeless tale of the misfit who finds out that it is the thing that makes him the misfit that makes him shine the brightest. There are so many moments in this movie that stand out, the moment where he finds out that "She likes me, she likes me" to the Island of Misfit Toys, to the moment when Santa says, "Rudolph with your nose so bright won't you guide my sleigh tonight?" Like the song says this Christmas classic goes down in history topping so many lists of all-time Animated Christmas Specials including mine!
