NYCC 2016: Ant-Man & Wasp Animated Shorts & Disney XD Gets Funko!

During the Marvel Television Animation Panel at the 2016 New York Comic-Con it was announced that Marvel and Funko have collaborated to create three brand-new animated shorts that will be released later this year. Cort Lane, Marvel’s Senior Vice President of Animation & Family Entertainment, announced that Ant-Man and The Wasp will unite in their own animated shorts coming next year to Disney XD!
The shorts will feature the voice talents of Josh Keaton (Voltron: Legendary Defender, Transformers Prime) as Ant-Man and Melissa Rauch (The Big Bang Theory) as The Wasp. The animated shorts will be created by Passion Studios, the studio responsible for Nike’s Rio Olympic short The Last Game, and directed by Ugo Bienvenu and Kevin Manach. Bienvenu and Manach, a creative duo from France, have collaborated previously and their shorts carry a distinct style that is sure to make Ant-Man and The Wasp "retro-style" stand out on Disney’s animated lineup.

Lane also announced that Marvel and Funko have collaborated to create three brand-new animated shorts that will be released later this year. First up is the animated short SPELLBOUND featuring Spider-Man and Iron Man facing off against the trickster Loki and his mind-controlling scepter, debuted to an enthusiastic crowd during the panel. The other two shorts include CHIMICHANGAS featuring Deadpool facing-off against Venom and RESCUE where Rocket Racoon breaks into the Collector’s museum to try and set his buddy, Groot, free.
