Hitch (America’s Got Powers) is
writing and drawing his work for the first time in a six issue mini-series
about celebrities, superhero movies and a fight to the death. It’s time for
some Real Heroes!
In
Hitch’s world there are blockbuster films called “The Olympians.” Unfortunately
for the stars of these films, they’re forced to take on the role of superheroes
for real when an enemy meant for their heroic personas shows up in the real
world.
Hitch
tells us that “The real
stars of this story are the very fallible, very real actors. It's those
characters that shape the story when they find themselves doing it for real…
Robert Downey Jr. isn't really Tony Stark, Hemsworth isn't Thor, and Cavill isn't
Superman. Imagine if they got to be? Very different story.” I kind of wish Hitch was able to use the likenesses and personalities of real celebrities for the comic, but his cast of characters could still be interesting.
Real Heroes
will be in comic book stores on March 26th for $3.99. Four covers
will be available. Cover A will be done by Bryan Hitch, cover B will be drawn
by Frank Cho (Liberty Meadows), cover C will be illustrated by David Finch (Batman: The Dark Knight) and the final cover, cover D, will be done by Travis Charest (Wildcats, Star Wars). So stay tuned later this month when a group of actors take own their first real villain in Real Heroes.
