NYCC 2014: Meet Zed From NBC's Constantine

With the premiere of the upcoming NBC series Constantine fast approaching DC has released a NEW Constantine Promo titled "Trust" that introduces us to the newest addition to the show Zed. Over the summer the role and casting of Zed was announced after the original pilot with a different new character was already leaked. Mary "Zed" Martin the vision-prone artist is a character taken from the DC and Vertigo comics which the new series is based on and is played by actress AngĂ©lica Celaya.
"For those who are unfamiliar with her, Zed was introduced early on in Vertigo’s classic Hellblazer series and was both a friend and lover to John. She was also a very powerful magic user in her own right, who helped John save his niece Gemma from a cult called the Damnation Army before getting involved with an opposing cult, the Resurrection Crusaders in an attempt to cause the Second Coming."

Based on the promo, Zed appears to be visually different in the show then the comic but her supernatural power is clearly very much intact.
Fans who are attending New York Comic-Con this weekend will likely learn a lot more about Zed during the Constantine panel on Saturday night. The rest of us will have to wait until the show debuts on October 24, 2014 on NBC following Grimm.
